Spent too much time on hold on phone trying to fix credit card errors then trying to find out why internet not working...so decided to take a walk and found a nice bear feeding on the hill next to our building. Also visited with friends who were having a garage sale nearby.

Morning volunteer work at Salvation Army then lunch of Shepherds Pie at McGivneys with friends with whom I worked on IT projects at the State, we try to meet twice a year when we are all in town.

Visited friends at Riverview Senior Living and found that the new Hesco barrier installation has blocked the first floor of the building of its former view of the Mendenhall River. Picked up some fresh Copper River sockeye at Jerry's!

Happy Memorial Day! Walked to Evergreen Cemetery for memorial in the veterans section with Coast Guard Arctic District Cmdr Admiral R Little as the keynote speaker...very sunny day!

Morning volunteer work at Salvation Army to help catch up from the backlog then walk to the library then afternoon visit with friend who just moved into assisted living

A friend and former neighbor has moved into assisted living but his home has been neglected so washed the dishes that had been left in his dishwasher for awhile, full of food and mold, yuck!

Morning volunteer work at the Salvation Army then attended ribbon cutting (in pouring down rain) of the completion of new docks at Aurora Harbor, and free hot dogs.

Early morning flight return home to Juneau although seven hour layover in Seattle at the Alaska airline lounge.

Busy day for my sister and her husband taking kids to school and picking up others at the airport.

Not all will fit in suitcase so shipped French linens via la poste, postal prices keep rising. My sister and I spent afternoon walking the new Cary downtown park and visit to vintage homes and art gallery. Evening calabash meal at Cape Fear.

My sister found a large unwanted suitcase in her attic so started filling it with items I will take back home. Shopping at Target for new bathing suit and Whole Foods for salmon on the grill.

Sunny for a bomboloni treat at Paul and Jack Bakery then drop off of my unwanted items to Guardian Angel Thrift Store. Evening baseball with youngest grandson then meal at Virlies Grill.

A rainy day for visit to storage unit then evening event for grandson's ceremony of National Junior Honor Society, then ice cream at Mama Birds.

Shopping at Trader Joes and Whole Foods then visit to oldest son's new home then evening baseball with youngest grandson.

Early morning flight to visit my sister and her family for two weeks, also to peruse what I have in my storage unit there. Attended granddaughter performance as member of Skip-Its Jump Rope Team.
4 May 2026 Monday - Juneau Alaska to Seattle Washington
Afternoon flight to Seattle for sleep near the airport at the newest member Spark of the Hilton hotel chain, not that great but backside quiet on lake!

Each year on the first Saturday in May we have the blessing of the fleet and the reading of the 279 names on the memorial then a free breakfast buffet at the Twisted Fish before they open for the season on Monday. It has been several years since I have been in Juneau during the first week of May to attend.

Morning volunteer work at the Salvation Army then a busy day for First Friday activities...noon Brown Bag Concert with Dottie Kelly, afternoon art gallery events, evening concert with Juneau community bands.
