Morning walk on the flume then midday ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery to honor those who lost their lives today in 1918 on the Princess Sophia. Pumpkin patch market at the JACC.

Morning volunteer work at the Salvation Army then afternoon walkabout to include the state capitol building five floors of artwork, drier than walking in the pouring rain!

Morning yoga (housewarming chinese money plant from the instructor!) then a very busy day, first fetching donations from a friend for the Salvation Army, then return to apartment to move the bed frame and platform from neighbor who is moving out, but the airbed will not work on this frame, so took my carload of donations to Salvation Army today instead of tomorrow so that I would have room in car for a 'mattress in a box' from Costco which was very heavy, then so lucky to have neighbor help me get it out of the box and also to move her tv into my apartment...think that I am starting to get too much stuff!!!

I am now living about three blocks from where I owned a home for 26 years so instead of jogging I am now walking the route in the woods that I did daily many years ago.

Happy Alaska Day, anniversary of transfer of territories from Russia to USA in 1867. Morning walkabout in rain and wind!

Morning volunteer work at the Salvation Army then afternoon walkabout downtown to enjoy the pumpkin patch scavenger hunt.

Morning dental cleaning then assist neighbor who is moving to Pioneer Home, he donated about 100 dolls from his collection to the Salvation Army, then visit a friend in Douglas. Enjoyed evening films of Juneau from back in the day. A family donated their grandparents 36 8mm films condensed into 30 minute showing. They also showed films from the JUMP society (Juneau Underground Motion Picture) collection.

Morning walk with the girls at Sandy Beach/Treadwell Mine Trail in the rain then several errands of setting up autopay for electric and internet and rent then purchases of microwave and printer...as a housesitter in years past, I had forgotten all the stuff that was already there and I just took for granted.

The rains have returned! Morning visit to our internet provider to fetch the gear that I need for internet, this finger pecking on the mobile phone just does not work for me. Afternoon visit to chiropractor and masseuse.

Had considered the afternoon matinee of locally produced play Romeo and Juliet but too nice a day to be indoors so walked the flume instead. And friends helped deliver a bookshelf that I purchased at the Salvation Army yesterday for nine bucks! Also joined all the Sunday workers at Salvation Army for a wonderful homemade lunch and going away party for one of us workers.

Walkabout downtown along the waterfront with no ships in town then visit to the big sale at Alaska Tshirt Company before they close for the season and was happy to see the managers there. We had worked together at the art gallery before it became a tshirt company thirty years ago. Haircut with a new hairdresser then salmon sandwich at the Red Dog.

Another sunny day for downtown walkabout and visit with friend at the museum. Afternoon birthday gathering for meal at TK Maguires.

Continue to meet my neighbors and am surprised that of the 67 units in this building, six of us are new arrivals in the past two weeks.

Early morning errands then fetched my friend to drive to her home that is for sale out the road to get her airbed and to take to my new home, an 18" queen, quite nice...then afternoon to buy a wooden dining table with four chairs from one of the neighbors, now a place to sit! Last night at hotel.

Started moving stuff from my storage unit to the apartment then spent time cleaning, even though the kitchen cabinets appeared clean, they were filthy so took quite a bit of scrubbing.

Finally!!! I am moving into my new home...a great reason to give my volunteer work at the Salvation Army a miss! A friend helped me hang the curtains that I washed over a month ago and it will take a few more days before I stay there. Hoping to get a bed by Sunday. Afternoon walkabout of galleries for First Friday, great artwork and snacks.

Another sunny day but cold in 30's and termination dust on mountains! Yoga and lunch at the senior center then walkabout to Nugget Falls at the glacier, only one cruise ship in town today so not as crowded!
