Walkabout on airport dike trail on the wetlands where there are now so many birds hanging out and Audubon friend did identification of dowitchers, teals, and several types of sandpipers.

More rain and wind, morning visit to Pioneer Home senior living for their garage sale/fund raiser and did find a few things! Veggie eggs benedict at the Rookery then downtown walkabout since there are no big cruise ships in today.

Morning volunteer work at Salvation Army then much frustration with the folks from whom I will be renting an apartment, no one is ever in the office nor do they answer their telephone which is a landline...so I went to the main office to speak with the management. They said maybe next week....almost two months to turn around an apartment seems like a long time.

I won a free ($200 value) dxa whole body composition analysis at the local health fair on 6 September so went in today for the scan and found that I am in 'normal' range!

Heavy rain and high winds forced cruise ships to divert their course.
Great yoga and lunch with friends at the senior center out of the weather but we did lose power, thank goodness the food was still warm.

Happy Pythogorean Triple Square Day, a day like no other in this century, a date of mathematical beauty...the squares of 3 and 4 and 5 consecutive numbers, and also the sum of the squares of the first two numbers...and the year is also a perfect square of 45!

Morning volunteer work at Salvation Army then afternoon walkabout on a tour sponsored by City Museum entitled Capital Murders True Crime walking tour done by Ed and Betsy former newspaper journalists. They are both wonderful historians and authors. The rains gave us a break with only afternoon overcast.

Morning yoga then visit with friend at the hospital who had a recent stroke.

Yoga and lunch at the senior center. Heavy rainfall and a high tide overwhelmed the pump station and caused untreated wastewater to flow into the channel but no impact to residents, they are in process of reconstruction.

Morning walk with friends on Treadwell Mining trail Sandy Beach then visit to the new Thrift Store in Douglas. Bought fresh greens of Tat Soi and Red Gem lettuce at Juneau Greens for yummy salad.

Morning walk in fog and rain along seawalk then afternoon updating Garmin in my car, may never need to use these updated maps but will get the free updates while I can, although the process takes a long time going back and forth from car to computer with usb stick.

Busy day in Juneau with morning Food Festival and Farmers Market at 10 then afternoon feed for us volunteers of Travel Juneau at Sandy Beach with catered brisket, chicken, mac&cheese, salad and cookies then late afternoon visit to celebrate 50th anniversary of native health consortium with free food of tacos, hot dogs, frybread, more cookies and live music and a chance to win 50000 Alaska Airline miles, which I did not win.
