Wonderful hike up Eaglecrest ski area trail, quiet with no helicopters nor planes nor people, only the wind in the trees and the birds chirping and the babbling brook.

The rains have returned and my plants are now very happy. I thought that I had lost the fuchsia with all the sun and heat but they seem to have recovered. Morning annual checkup with the doctor then walkabout in afternoon. 8.8 earthquake near Kamchatka Russia with tsunami warnings.

Our first ever heat advisory issued, 80 degrees at 4pm. Midday PT appointment then afternoon walk at the glacier, although I should have gone before PT, because I could not believe the number of people, way too many tourists in Juneau.

Morning volunteer work at the visitor center kiosk downtown then walkabout on the docks, sunny and warm day, then home to sit on the deck in the sunshine.

Another sunny day so used one of my free tram passes for alpine loop trail hike on Mt Roberts. Afternoon memorial at Sandy Beach for deceased friend with heaps of food and friends.

Morning volunteer work at the Salvation Army then haircut then visit to Pioneer Home where a resident friend's granddaughter is singing, wonderful voice, and of course to see many other friends.

Missed yoga cos I had to wait for contractor to install floor outlet then errands...lug nut torque followup on my new tires, updated lenses for my spectacles, and shopping.

The rains have returned for our morning yoga and lunch at senior center then time with a friend to assist with her computer.

Gorgeous morning for walk through the Mendenhall wetlands along the river (which is predicted to flood again 8 August) with heaps of flowers then halibut burger at the Sand Bar.

Prediction for a very warm sunny day today. Morning massaage.

Morning walk up the hill exploring the neighborhood then afternoon whale watch where we saw orcas and humpbacks, another gorgeous sunny day for our boat ride.

Morning walk with visit to Douglas Cemetery which is in dire need of some tlc. While housesitting on Douglas Island, I am spending time exploring the neighborhoods and parks. Afternoon boat ride to Orca Point Lodge on Colt Island for a delicious dinner of salmon and the fixings.

Morning walk at Treadwell Trail/Sandy Beach before the rain. I had purchased a new water filter for the refrigerator yesterday and they gave to me the wrong one so returned to get the correct one but returned home to install it and now cannot get the old one out, maybe has been there too long, or I need stronger hands!

Great visit with a friend who had been here in summers for past ten years managing the House of Wickersham but was only here for a few days this week. Late lunch at the outdoor food court downtown.

Happy Bastille Day, and another day of rare sunshine! So much fun to watch the tide come and go just outside my window, with the fish jumping and the eagles fishing and heaps of boats/ships. Afternoon dental cleaning.

Morning volunteer work at Salvation Army then afternoon visits to Pioneer Home for ice cream and Riverview Senior Center for pizza and visits with many friends

Morning massage then midday visit to City Museum for Hawaiian Hula show. Afternnoon research at State Library where I met a young woman who works for Trail Mix and has an interest in the history of that trail which I have been researching.

Morning yoga and lunch at the senior center then visit for friend to my new housesit then followup at the library for my research.

Happy Fourth of July!!! Busy morning cleaning my housesit that I will vacate later today then walk down the hill to enjoy the wonderful parade and free lunch at the local church. More food and desserts at the neighbors down the street.

Morning research at the library then lunch with the son and his wife of a man with whom I worked at IBM. I shared photos of a road trip that I had done with his father in 1983 and also the research I had done on their ancestry of Russian origins.
