I have had painful left shoulder for over a year and while in Juneau last summer, I found I had rotator cuff tears. I had many sessions of physical therapy and acupuncture but still the pain so visited the doctor here in Florida who did my right shoulder eleven years ago and will now have him do my left shoulder on 21 September....difficult to type with one hand.

Morning walk then my walking partner offered to help me shop and deliver goodies to my mother, since I cannot drive yet.

Morning walk to see our mother at her dental appointment. They have just opened her assisted living for visits by appointment in their clubhouse but I cannot drive with this sling for another two weeks.

Morning visit with orthopedic nurse to have sutures removed from four holes in my shoulder and to schedule PT in two weeks

21 September 2020 Monday - Largo Florida
No food or drink after midnight so a morning of suffering before arrival at surgery center at noon for 1pm surgery then home by 330pm.
20 September 2020 Sunday - Largo Florida
Overcast morning for about three mile walk at Eagle Lake Park. Last time I visited a few months back, I did see alligator but today only turtles and birds. Then shopping for organic veggies at Nature's Food Patch since I will not be able to drive for the next week or two.

Morning walk on the beach then time at the pool. I rang a friend in San Francisco to see how he was surviving the fires and smoke. When I told him of my passion for genealogy, he told me that he had recently found that his grandmother left her husband and child (my friend's father) for a more exciting life and then had affair with Babe Ruth and had the daughter that Babe and his wife adopted.

16 September 2020 Wednesday - Largo Florida
Tropical storm Sally gave us a miss so today hot and partial sun but much too humid to be outside. Morning walkabout then joined weekly coffee club meeting at the clubhouse then spent too much time on the telephone dealing with medical and insurance inquiries regarding future shoulder surgery and previous eye doctor visit. Afternoon dropoff at the consignment shop then evening meeting of the homeowners association.

An overcast windy morning for drive to Whole Foods and then pouring down rain when I exited the store. This is the first time in the several months that I have shopped on Sunday morning at Whole Foods that it was so crowded with big queue for checkout, really strange! I have learned of an author who writes genealogy mysteries from my genealogy friends so just got some from the library and am really enjoying this author Nathan Dylan Goodwin.

Morning walk then time at the pool before afternoon rain. Attended another dna zoom class where woman did excellent presentation on the topic misattributed parentage or disconnected connections. Family lore was that her grandfather had not been fathered by the person known to be his father and she proved that true with her dna analysis.

Morning walk at Boca Ciega Millenium Park which opens at 7am. We enjoyed the boardwalk and views from tower then did a bushwalk on the nature trail and found an abundance of beautyberry shrubs.

Morning delivery of stuff to mum at the assisted living then walkabout at Taylor Park where I found heaps of birds on the lake then a visit to the library.

Happy Labor Day! After morning walk, shopping at Target for stuff for mum.

Morning wash of the van, which I have not done since June, where has the time gone? Then time at the pool, now late afternoon it is pouring down rain with heaps of thunder.

Another new month already! Morning visit to the gym and even though I cancelled membership one month ago, it appears that I have another free month through end of October. I missed being in Juneau this year, especially hiking up the mountains with my friends, but have since learned that this was the second rainiest summer in history (previous one 1961). Four feet of rain recorded June through August! Probably just as well that there were no cruise ships because they would not have been happy tourists! Also a record number of bears!
