Morning walkabout then visit to dentist for teeth cleaning then yoga via zoom. We had a very heavy rain last evening and this morning and it now appears that we have a roof leak, something that has been happening with the condos recently because of their age.

Morning walkabout then visited consignment shop but of all the stuff that I have recently taken, we only received $1.75 so far! Hopefully more folks will get out and do more shopping.

Morning walk on the beach, so nice on the sand with no shoes! Afternoon webinar on WWI. I have completed all the forms for NARA to receive my grandfather's records.

Morning workout at the gym then to drop off stuff for mum then monthly top off of petrol, back down to $1.95 per gallon.

26 August 2020 Wednesday - Largo Florida
Weekly morning coffee with the ladies by the pool and then time in the sun by the pool but a bit overcast. Afternoon walk to the post office.

Morning ultrasound at the local clinic then afternoon DNA meeting via zoom.

24 August 2020 Monday - Largo Florida
Morning walk then time at the pool, the water temp has finally cooled to 84 degrees. Afternoon yoga via zoom.

23 August 2020 Sunday - Largo Florida
Early morning shopping at Walmart hoping to find a few summer clothes on sale but all are gone and replaced with the winter line, why so early! Visit to War Memorial park with views of the water and Johns Pass. Visit to KOA hoping to find inexpensive dump station but not at $33. Afternoon thunderstorm.

21 August 2020 Friday - Largo Florida
Morning walk with a few rainy sprinkles. Afternoon genealogy webinar entitled Death by Undue Means: Coroner Records, very well done. Our mother's grandparents died in a street car accident in Omaha Nebraska 1892 and the newspapers state that an inquest was done so now will see if they have these records!

20 August 2020 Thursday - Largo Florida
Morning visit to ALF to drop stuff off for mum then walkabout at Bonner Park then haircut, just missed getting soaked in big rainstorm! I am doing research for my hair stylist's son's deceased father who was adopted and analyzing DNA to determine parentage. Afternoon telephone call from a friend from high school who was driving north from Florida to Maryland to tend to her ex-husband's death...so good to chat with her.

Morning workout at the gym. They are changing their hours in September to open at 5am instead of 6am.

Morning walk with Sara then swim in the pool then afternoon yoga via zoom then a few hours on the telephone with my cousin in Illinois, discussing genealogy!

Early morning shopping at Whole Foods but too overcast and hot for a day at the pool.

15 August 2020 Saturday - Largo Florida
Morning walk with Sara then genealogy class via zoom on how our ancestors travelled the waterways in the 1800's. Afternoon visit with the neighbors. The woman whose company manages this property was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She told us today that she had fallen while ice skating and bruised a rib but when she did a bit of rubbing there, she found a lump! It appears that this was diagnosed as postpartum breast cancer, possibly due to breast feeding and having children, she has a daughter age 7. She looks good and is doing well with hormone therapy.

Morning walk on the beach with Sara then delicious mocha at the local outdoor coffee shop on the inland waterway.

13 August 2020 Thursday - Largo Florida
Morning workout at the gym then delivery of stuff to mum. I had ordered a printer from Staples on Monday (nothing is in stock anymore) which they said would be delivered on Wednesday but did not arrive until today Thursday at 830pm, we are last on his route and I was stop number 267...poor guy!

12 August 2020 Wednesday - Largo Florida
Morning walk then coffee with the ladies then a swim at the pool where it is usually just me, but this morning there were seven others! Received telephone call from my aunt whose daughter is considering DAR membership to receive scholarship for her daughter so spent afternoon doing the research. I had done all this research five years ago when I had considered DAR membership and then did not complete it.

11 August 2020 Tuesday - Largo Florida
Morning workout at the gym then walk to dentist for her to do followup on previous work and to adjust mouthguard. Stopped at library on return walk...their hours now vary every day with midday closing for cleaning so sometimes difficult to keep track of when they are open.

10 August 2020 Monday - Largo Florida
Morning visit to orthopedic surgeon for consult on left shoulder...he had done my right shoulder in 2009....decided to go ahead with procedure in September. Stopped at thrift shop on way home and found a file cabinet for four dollars so the guy loaded it in back of van for me....now to find someone to help unload it. Afternoon zoom meeting with genealogy group with presentation on history of DNA...all the way back to the 1800's!

Early morning shopping at Sprouts and Target to avoid the crowds then enjoyed reading the Sunday paper which I receive from the neighbor when she is done with it.

Morning walk with Sara then time at the pool. Afternoon zoom class with genealogy group with discussion on ydna tests.

7 August 2020 Friday - Largo Florida
Morning walk on the beach with Sara where we saw the baby turtles and baby skimmers hatching! A volunteer looking over the baby turtles and keeping folks clear of their mission told us that a coyote had started digging for the eggs when she was able to rescue them for their journey to the sea....then a visit to the Seabird Sanctuary.

6 August 2020 Thursday - Largo Florida
Morning workout at the gym then drop off some of mum's stuff at consignment shop. I visited her at the assisted living because she had hair appointment (they have beauty shop onsite) and I had to pay the beautician. I was able to visit with our mother and gave her the Whopper Jr that she had requested I buy for her!

5 August 2020 Wednesday - Largo Florida
Early morning walk then joined the Wednesday morning coffee klatch at the pool this morning. Ever since these condos were built in the early 1970's, they have had their social hour with coffee and donuts on Wednesday mornings. This was stopped due to covid in March but recently started again with a few folks sitting outside by the pool instead of inside the clubhouse. Then time for a swim before the clouds rolled in. Then made banana bread using mum's KitchenAid Artisan Mixer, what fun!

4 August 2020 Tuesday - Largo Florida
Uncruise had hoped to start their small cruises out of Juneau, since there are no other cruise ships operating this summer, but had positive case of COVID-19 onboard today so that ends that attempt!

2 August 2020 Sunday - Largo Florida
Hurricane Isaias turned into a tropical storm and gave us a miss and headed further north. Most hurricanes are not as deadly for folks on this side of Florida plus my mother's home is in a non evacuation zone, being on higher ground.

Morning walk with Sara, a very hot and humid day today! Then a swim in the very warm pool (90 degrees) then baked cookies.
