Chose to travel through DC on Easter Sunday with less traffic, managed to see cherry blossoms still in bloom at the Tidal Basin as I drove by. First stop Shirlington/Fairlington where we lived then Wakefield High School.

Morning walkabout of Annapolis before the afternoon rains. Locals said to park on Dock Street but found it flooded due to tides so parked on Main Street where parking is free before 10 am, then you must use your mobile telephone to pay! Stopped at Whole Foods for soup and salad for lunch.

Cold and sunny visit to Eastern Neck NWR visitor center museum located in historic hunting lodge. Evening visit with neighbors home across the road which is right on the water for beautiful sunset and cherry pie.

Very heavy rain and wind for our drive to Eastern Neck Refuge to visit the visitor center but it was closed even though they state open Friday-Sunday 11-3, probably due to flooded roads! Evening meal at the Blue Heron.

Another cold day with a rain storm predicted which arrived late. Walk to neighbor's to shoot pool then driveabout tour of Rock Hall.

Another cold and sunny day, exit 104 off I95 for route 301 to cross the Potomac River to Maryland for visit with my sister's husband's brother at Rock Hall, wonderful old house built at turn of last century. Explored the Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge.

Visit to Vintage Market in downtown Cary then drive out to visit my sister's daughter and family on their five acre property in the country for family fun in the sun and Smithfield barbq.

Lunch at Bad Daddy's with my sister and her husband and their son and his mother-in-law before their son drove to Virginia Beach to join his family.

Morning walk in the Azalea Gardens then milkshakes at Cook Out. Afternoon errands at the bank and post office and Harris Teeter, great salmon on grill for dinner.
13 March 2024 Wednesday - Santee South Carolina to Cary North Carolina (220 miles)
I95 north initially in the dark (do not like daylight savings time taking away my early morning sunshine) to exit 170 for a Bucee's break then exit 1 to routes 501/15/1 to my sister's home. Visit to the dentist to have filling redone. Dinner of chicken meatballs and rice and beans and asparagus.
12 March 2024 Tuesday - Starke Florida to Santee South Carolina (280 miles)
Route 301 to 200/A1A to I95 north through Georgia to South Carolina, heaps of police on the road.
11 March 2024 Monday - Largo to Starke Florida (192 miles)
Early start for myself and my sister and her husband to head north, them directly to NC and me taking a bit longer! Overnight at Starke so that I can enjoy a meal at the famous Call Street Cafe but closed due to 'system outage' so walked the historic downtown then drove through the vintage victorian homes, some restored and some in need of renovation.

Last day at mum's in Florida! Condo prices are falling and nothing is selling due to higher fees and insurance! Loaded printer in my car and the big tv in my sister's car along with more stuff to take north and then final cleanup of the condo.

Morning walk with my sister at Botanical Gardens then visit to storage unit. Home to bag up more stuff to take to the church then mahi lunch on the water at Wahoos. Afternoon shopping at Bealls then moved printer into my car.

Going through more of mum's stuff, jewelry and sewing bits and electronics, nice break for grouper lunch at Caddy's in the sun on the deck. Afternoon meeting with the realtor.

Morning walk at the gardens then midday swim in the pool where water is 76 degrees. Even though I just had car washed, it was covered in pollen again so took it down to the clubhouse for a rinse. My sister and her husband arrived at 7pm

Morning walk at the gardens then moved last of my boxes to storage unit. Visit to Salty Pelican for fresh mahi and salmon spread and a crab cake to cook for lunch.

Morning walk at Boca Ciega Millennium park where the mosquitoes were out in full force so will not return there anytime soon. More stuff to the church and to the library. A newly found cousin via dna has gotten me back on the genealogy research for a bit.

Morning walk at the Botanical Gardens then time on the telephone dealing with banks and genealogy vendors. So happy to have the last bit of furniture out the door by our local maintenance man...the claw truck visits their neighborhood once a week to pick up items at the curb.

A new Whole Foods opened in St Pete last week so decided to visit early this morning and enjoyed a bowl of a mix of their delicious soups. Then a much needed car wash due to the heavy pollen in the air. Overcast day with prediction of rain but none yet.

Morning walk to the post office to mail my taxes and forward our mother's mail to my sister...but cannot do because of new rules. My sister needs to now initiate that forward since she lives in another state with a different last name.

Visit to Vintage Market in downtown Cary then drive out to visit my sister's daughter and family on their five acre property in the country for family fun in the sun and Smithfield barbq.
