Happy Leap Day! Morning walk at the gardens then spent most of afternoon cleaning out my suitcases of items kept way too long. RootsTech conference started today for four days so managed to watch a few sessions. This is an annual genealogy event from Salt Lake City, some great speakers and new tools for DNA and family history research.
28 February 2024 Wednesday - Largo Florida
Another morning of waiting but Salvation Army did arrive on time although again not taking everything due to driver discretion!
27 February 2024 Tuesday - Largo Florida
Dental followup for gum graft stitch removal and fitting adjustment for partial. Donated mum's tower computer to Best Buy but you must pay to donate a monitor so visited local Tuesday thrift market at the methodist church and they take it for free.
26 February 2024 Monday - Largo Florida
Morning walk at the gardens then afternoon visit with friends by the pool at their home. I met Kim on a hike in Juneau many years ago during their visit to Juneau. They visit Juneau every other year because Peter had gone to high school there and they, like so many of us, just love being there.
25 February 2024 Sunday - Largo Florida
Beautiful walk on the beach watching the full moon set, heaps of birds out and about this morning. My sailing friend wanted me to join him on his boat today but decided to give it a miss, just too much to do before I depart Florida.
24 February 2024 Saturday - Largo Florida
Fourth visit to Honda dealer hoping that they would finally fix my leaky tire, and they did, finding a small wire puncture and fixed with a patch. Because I was already half way there, I visited Trader Joes and Fresh Market to find a few things but like many stores now, they no longer stock the items I have purchased in the past.
23 February 2024 Friday - Largo Florida
Morning walk at the gardens then catching up with friends on the telephone which I will no longer have soon.
22 February 2024 Thursday - Largo Florida
Morning walk at Boca Ciega park then visit to post office to mail books to friends and to library to donate more books! The car was not full of donations yet but decided to stop at the church to drop off the few items that I had and found a man fetching their leftover scrap metal so he stopped by the condo to pick up the file cabinet that I thought I would never move out, yippee!
21 February 2024 Wednesday - Largo Florida
Our mother's condo goes live on MLS! Morning walk at the Largo Nature Park then pedicure then to bank to close our mother's account that she has had for the past forty years! The maintenance man for the community volunteered to take all the cleaning bottles from under all our sinks, he will be set for the next year! Received email that the ferry I have scheduled for travel to Juneau changed their dates so had to ring them and get it straightened out.

16 February 2024 Friday - Largo Florida
All furniture will be gone, but not! I have found that even though the person you talk to on the telephone states that they will take everything, that is not true, it is at the driver's discretion. Even though it was an empty truck, the driver will not take items because he says that they will not sell...seems like the guy back at the office should know that!
15 February 2024 Thursday - Largo Florida
A day of rest to recover from gum graft procedure.
14 February 2024 Wednesday - Largo Florida
Happy Valentines Day! Visit to the dentist today for teeth cleaning and gum graft, not fun!

I last visited Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park in November 2021 when it was quiet and the boats were not running but today is peak season so arrived early and took the first boat (only $2) on the Pepper Creek with Captain Scott, just beautiful and I was the only one onboard, then walked the trail back to the wildlife park for viewing of the manatees and heaps of other wildlife and birds and home to the oldest hippopotamus in captivity (Lu) who just turned 64 last month (90 pounds at birth in San Diego and now over 6000 pounds). Then visit to old town Homosassa and the saw mill and end of road at Mason Creek. The road into the Weeki Wachee Preserve is only open second Saturdays which is today. I had hiked the five miles around these lakes a few years ago but not today, just enjoyed the lakes that were formed from when limestone was once quarried from deep pits. Visited the Little Red Schoolhouse which is now a used bookshop for some new reads.
9 February 2024 Friday - Largo to Spring Hill Florida
A getaway for a few days, but my crown fell off, so needed to find a dentist to 'glue' it back on!
6 February 2024 Tuesday - Largo Florida
Moving boxes to storage and unwanted stuff to the church and time for a much needed haircut then walk at the gardens with extended walk on the McKay Creek nature path where there is a bat house. Then too long a time on the computer with the realtor and my sister/husband doing electronic signing of documents. Then another run of donations of sheets/towels to the church because tomorrow the thrift store is open for customers (only one day a week).
5 February 2024 Monday - Largo Florida
Morning interview of realtor which went well and the person we chose!
4 February 2024 Sunday - Largo Florida

Morning walk at the gardens then visit to snf to collect a lost photo of mum's that they found under the dresser. Wonderful lunch in Gulfport in the sun on the deck overlooking the water. Neighbor stopped by for afternoon visit and decided she would take several of our pieces of furniture, yay!
