Morning visit with mum at her rehab. She will be moved from a private room to a shared room tomorrow so I will not be able to visit her in the room, must now make appointment for us to meet in the courtyard.

Morning walk on the beach and the end of free parking at Indian Shores on Wednesday...sussed out another free public parking area about one mile north! A swim in the pool where the water temp has dropped to 88!

Morning walkabout then appointment with my orthopedist regarding my shoulders. Afternoon visit with mum in rehab then drive south on Gulf Boulevard along the beach to Don CeSar (the legendary pink palace of St Pete Beach since 1928) and Fort DeSoto

Morning walk of neighborhood with my sister then time at the pool then visit with mum. We explored Gulfport with dinner at Caddy's and views of water and St Pete.

Time to change oil in the van and also needed a new battery then visit with mum in rehab. My sister and her husband arrived mid afternoon so another visit with mum.

Mum was supposed to move from hospital to rehab today but delayed until Wednesday.

When our mother did not ring after dinner, I rang her and found her speech very slurred so rang the nurse and our mother ended up in the hospital where they found she had experienced tia.

Overcast dry morning for hike at Ross Prairie where I shared the trail with a few horse riders then visit to local WalMart. Afternoon genealogy class on zoom.

As I started my journey today, the check engine light lit up so drove a few more miles trying to decide what to do...then did a u-turn to head back to hotel where I had seen an automotive repair shop to have it checked....and a good thing because more damage may have occurred. Clogged fuel injector which could be due to bad petrol or the van sitting idle for a long time, also had them do tuneup.

Morning walkabout at Rainbow Springs State Park and then visit to Ross Prairie State Forest where I had hiked the trail a few years ago but gave it a miss today because of threat of thunderstorms, which it did.

1 August 2021 Sunday - Largo Florida
Short roadtrip for a few days through central Florida. Today's visits on route 41 were to Chinsegut Hill historic site (origin of name is Alaskan Inuit meaning 'spirit of things lost and regained'), Lake Lindsey (great country store with guy strumming guitar on front porch), McKethan Lake, Floral City with beautiful Spanish moss hanging off old oak trees forming a canopy over the road, Fort Cooper. Sunny morning then big rain storm midday.
