The sun returned for one day so walked the Mendenhall Wetlands State Game Refuge dike trail near the airport, about three miles, where I saw several birds.

and the very heavy rain continues...joined the folks at the Senior luncheon of chicken and veggies at the church and homemade cookies for dessert!

A very rainy day so gave the Parks and Rec hike a miss and walked to downtown Douglas library and to the fifth annual Douglas Picnic....but just too wet to stay very long!

Morning visit to hospital for ultrasound on my knees to see if my knee pain is due to reoccurrence of Baker cyst from fifteen years ago, and also to visit my friend in hospital.

Lunch cancelled today with fellow IBMer because his wife is in the hospital and I had a bit of reaction to ozone therapy on my knees.

A very sunny day for morning walk with Patricia on the Treadwell trail then drove out to Fred's for food and petrol then visit to Katy and Dan's where friends Myron and Dianne are visiting from lower 48.....then afternoon wash of the van before the rains and colder weather return on Tuesday.

Time again for a haircut and senior lunch at the church in Douglas!

Parks and Rec hike at Eagle River Boys Scout Camp to the beach, about six miles. We saw spawning salmon, eagles, and bear! The price of petrol was $3.55 per gallon when I arrived in May and has been that ever since, until today, when price increased to $3.61.

Visited Les Schwab to have them do complimentary check of my brakes, batteries, tires but the young kids there used wrong setting to test my battery and initially said that it was bad, then they pulled the battery out and lost the nut and washer that holds it down with crossbar, then they told me that it had been found and reinstalled.....but when I checked, I found that they had lied and that it was still missing! I then spoke with the manager and he drove to the local hardware store to fetch two new nuts/washers and installed.......may never return here again! I had used Les Schwab over the past several years because they exist in several western states.....but when the old man died, so did their customer service.

Joined friend for ride up the tram and walk in the fog on the alpine trail to Father Brown cross.

A rainy walk with my friend Katy and her dog Penny at the Eaglecrest ski area. The pain in my right leg continues so decided to have knee xray and found that I have degenerative joint disease, a hazard of aging....and the pain was exacerbated by the fall on the trail last week.

Wednesday Parks and Rec hike was tour of Treadwell mining artifacts in Douglas on the last day of sunshine.....then some of my hiking friends visited my temporary home up the hill.
