Planning to depart Florida by the end of February for travels west....visiting a cousin in Texas and aunt and uncle in Arizona......housesitting in Palo Alto/San Francisco for the month of April.
28 February 2018 Wednesday - Perry Florida to Moss Point Mississippi (316 miles)
On the interstate west which was a very busy road...Florida to Alabama to Mississippi!
27 February 2018 Tuesday - Crystal River to Perry Florida (107 miles)
Clouds, wind and much cooler in the northern part of Florida where they had a very big rain storm yesterday that I was very happy to have missed but today is not a day to spend at the pool! Perry is home to the Mud Bog which is this coming weekend at the Iron Horse Mud Ranch....I had been through here two years ago when this was happening.
26 February 2018 Monday - Seminole to Crystal River Florida (80 miles)
On the road north and west but not in too much a hurry because of big storm northwest of here that I am hoping will disappear soon so will enjoy the warmth of the south for a bit longer....plus heaps of traffic just getting out of Tampa area.

I usually like to depart a big city on a Sunday when there is less traffic but decided to just have a day of rest with mum before heading north and west tomorrow.

Morning workout at the Y then stocking up with veggies at EarthFare then cooling off from the record high heat at the pool then walk to the library for presentation by author Roslyn Franken on her book Meant to Be, the story of her parents who were survivors of WWII.

Drive my mother's neighbor for doctor visit then a swim at the pool.

Another record high of 89 degrees! Morning visit with mum to her doctor and afternoon genealogy class at the library.

Record high of 88 degrees...very warm for this time of year!

Lunch with a man who had lived in Juneau in the 1960's and was an owner of my home on Main Street....wonderful stories of life in Juneau at that time!

Morning workout at the Y then more time at the pool where the water temp is at 77! Drove mum to Sam's for her to stock up on supplies before I depart, and before they potentially may close!

Morning visit to Lowes to buy washer and dryer because my mother's broke over a week ago and I am so ready to get clean clothes! Then finally the weather is warm enough for a swim in the pool (water temp at 75 degrees).

More time this morning at the toilet prepping for my colonoscopy today which was a clean one but then the doctor decided he also wanted me to do the upper GI so starving again for tomorrow early visit!

Morning workout at the gym then a bit of time at the pool then prepping for colonoscopy....and then my mother decided she was ready to come home from the hospital but no way for me to be away from a toilet so she called her stepson.

My mother has had dizzy spells recently so she was upset by it that she rang her Life Alert and the ambulance fetched her and she went to the hospital....quite a surprise to me!

Finishing my taxes and washing clothes....then the washer breaks! My mother has had this Maytag washer since she moved in 22 years ago so time for a new one

Walkabout at the Largo Narrows now known as George C McGough Nature Park with my friend Kim where we saw heaps of birds and turtles (alligator snapping, Florida softshell, cooters, sliders) and tortoise (African leopard and red footed).
