Fetched my van from storage and had oil change and batteries/tires/brakes checked out...all is well!

A very rainy day so joined friends at the LDS doing genealogy......and finding heaps of stuff on my mother's side that we have never before explored!
Plus, the local hardware store is going out of business and I won a Samsung blu ray disc player....now I need to buy a TV!

Happy Friday the Thirteenth!

Awoke to over six inches of snow on the the ground.....and I have a driveway and sidewalks to shovel.....but then by noon it was all gone with the rains

The planned hike was up toward West Peak.....but then the Taku winds started blowing with temps in the teens.....so we opted for about seven mile loop out near the glacier.

Spent the morning at the LDS working on genealogy with a woman who really knows the ins and outs......quite a few wonderful finds!

And had to give today's hike out North Douglas a miss also because the fixit guy returned with my heater to install......although he never bothered to clean out the last fifteen year's worth of dirt....which I did before it went into the house. This Toyo heater was installed over fifteen years ago and I do not think that it has ever been serviced......still not working properly but these slumlords do not want to spend any money to fix anything!

Had to give today's hike at the glacier a miss because my landlord has finally replied to my request to fix the heater....and now it is gone to the shop.....so I will be freezing here until it or a new one returns!
