Morning walk at Boca Ciega Park then groceries at Sprouts then a bit of sun at the pool, no swimming though at 64 degrees. More tossing of backup diskettes, no 3 1/4 drive on which to read them...now what to do with my 35mm Nikon and all the lenses.

Morning walk at the Botanical Gardens for the last days of their Christmas lights then a much needed pedicure with Kim at La Vang. More tossing of slides...how many photos do you need of a glacier or of our rafting rivers of the Kongakut and Noatak in northern Alaska.

Finally a break from our mother's mess and off sailing with a friend out of Gulfport on his Catalina 36...cold and windy with bits of sun bringing back memories. I raced sailboats in the 1970's and 1980's in San Francisco and Hawaii and the Caribbean.

Spent most of day dealing with our mother's hospice/medicaid app/lawyer stuff, so time consuming.

Morning visit with mum at snf and with the hospice nurse. My sister and her husband finally get to return home to their kids! Lunch with a neighbor at Woody's on the water of St Pete Beach.

Morning visit to UPS to post our mother's kitchenaid to friend in Idaho then visit with mum at snf. Lunch at Keegans then hauling of furniture donation to church.

Merry Christmas! Donations to local church then cooked pork roast with rice and broccoli. Evening film of White Christmas.

Morning walk at Eagle Lake with my sister and return unused ensure to Walmart. Visit to grocery to find something for our Christmas meal.

Morning walk at Taylor Park where I saw two eagles just hanging out in the tree, very majestic. Visit with mum at alf where I found that she had walked to the dining room for breakfast. After yesterday's telephone call that she needs to move to long term care, I spent several hours trying to determine the next step. A big worry was what to do with her furniture and found several folks did have an interest in her stuff so all did work out.

Morning walk at the Botanical Gardens then more donations to the church. Heaps of time spent going through old cameras and tablet computers and eyeglasses. We received a call from our mother's alf and the doctor has determined she needs to move to skilled nursing care.

A very rainy day for walk at Bonner Park then visit with our mother at alf. She had fallen last evening and had gone to hospital but then was discharged and returned later in evening. Annual genealogy Christmas party at the library, heaps of food and many stories to share.

Morning walk at Botanical Gardens where I saw an armadillo and tried to get his/her photo but it kept running away with me chasing. Spent time sorting through my tool boxes and a cabinet full of office supplies...how many IBM staplers/tape dispensers/rulers/hole punch machines do I really need?

Morning walk at Taylor Park then visit with our mother at alf. Spent too much time with tracfone trying to remove my credit card from their website...I had already been online with two long chats so decided to ring them only to find that even though my card is still visible when I log on, it is really not active.

Water was turned off at the condo complex for repairs midday so delayed my walkabout. I had spent last evening going through my many Lonely Planet travel books and decided that I must bid them adieu! I donated them to our local library where I also met with some genealogy friends whom I have not seen in person for awhile since all our classes are now on zoom. We decided we would meet this Saturday for the annual genealogy Christmas event (this year in person), which I used to attend every year when I visited my mother, so will be fun to see everyone again. Then walkabout at the Largo Nature Park where I saw two very large alligators in the stormwater pond, then snackabout at Costco...very crowded!

Had considered a walk on the beach but a very cold and windy morning so opted for walk at Boca Ciega Park for a view of the beach instead. Tackled the taxes this morning because I found that no taxes were deducted for my rmd this year so trying to avoid penalty payment. Then finished scanning my address books so that I can consolidate boxes to return to storage. Now to peruse more boxes of genealogy research and see what I can toss or scan.

Morning drive to Whole Foods then afternoon rain shower. I had opened a jar of their garlic stuffed olives last week and they had gone very bad even though expiration is mid next year which I had kept then forgot to take with me. They do not take your word for a bad product so will offer no replacement/refund unless you produce the card used for payment which I did and received full refund.

Morning walk at Eagle Lake then visit to Natures Food Patch for their wonderful homemade soup. Visited the condo clubhouse where they are having a toy drive with heaps of food then visit to an open house. Found that the realtor has sister in Sitka Alaska so was fun to chat about 'home'. Spent afternoon on the telephone with family due to loss of an uncle.

My sister and her husband drove back to North Carolina this morning and I visited the Freedom Square Christmas market festivities with free snacks, cider and eggnog. Very cold last night with temps in the 40's.
6 December 2023 Wednesday - Largo Florida
Morning visit with mum at alf then stop at Salty Pelican to buy local fish spread for my sister to take home and also try fresh crab cakes for our snack lunch before delicious meal (grouper and paella) at Doc Fords.
5 December 2023 Tuesday - Largo Florida
Morning walkabout at Walsingham Park with my sister then visit with mum at alf. Afternoon meal with English friend and my sister and her husband at Sea Weed.

Morning walk at Botanical Gardens for my sister to enjoy the Christmas lights then visit with mum at alf then late brekkie at Speggtacular.
3 December 2023 Sunday - Largo Florida
Morning visit with mum at alf then lunch at Caddy's on the water. We visited weekend markets on Seminole Boulevard and at Indian Shores. After evening meal at Brooklyn Pizza, we drove the over three mile drive through the neighborhood of Lake Park to enjoy their Christmas lights then caught the end of the local Boat Float Parade.

Morning visit at the Honda dealer because of my concern with one tire consistently lower than the rest but they told me nothing wrong...I guess that I should not check my tire pressure everyday? Then visit with mum at the alf...she was very tired after her visit to the hospital overnight.
