Early morning drive on Appalachian Highway through Cherry Log and Blue Ridge to North Carolina with crossing of Continental Divide.

29 June 2022 Wednesday - Ellijay Georgia
Morning drive up the mountain to Fort Mountain State Park and walk trails to CCC Fire Tower and very old Stone Wall (about 500AD).

28 June 2022 Tuesday - Ellijay Georgia
Visit Amicalola Falls State Park but most  trails closed due to major search for young man gone missing. Afternoon visit to dentist to ensure extraction is healing.

27 June 2022 Monday - Lagrange to Ellijay Georgia (170 miles)
Beautiful drive on route 27 north to Rome then east on route 53 into the mountains. Happy to finally find Georgia mapbook at Buc-ee's!

Walked downtown Lagrange but most places closed on Sunday except for bookshop.

25 June 2022 Saturday - Lagrange Georgia
Morning drive to Pine Mountain and FDR State Park, cooler temps and a bit foggy. Beautiful views at Dowdell Knob where there is a statue of FDR, only one done that shows braces on his legs. Very educational visit to the Little White House and the pool at Warm Springs where FDR lived and died.

Driving west across Georgia to arrive before big rainstorm!

Morning drive to Alma to visit with Ann at Blueberry Farm although the season has just ended. She told me she started her business after travels to Alaska where she had seen so many wild blueberries and no one here had catered to the locals and tourists.

Morning walkabout at General Coffee State Park to watch the deer and many gopher tortoise then afternoon walkabout in downtown Douglas.

21 June 2022 Tuesday - Perry Florida to Douglas Georgia (141 miles)
Drive from Florida to Georgia where the petrol is much less expensive. Overnight at cottage at General Coffee State Park, quiet with heaps of wildlife, and bugs!

Morning walk on beach to watch setting of full strawberry moon on Gulf waters!

Another visit to the dentist to find that he left part of tooth/bone behind which is causing my pain so he had to dig around some more to get it out...and now my pain will continue with swelling.

Morning visit to the dentist again regarding pain after extraction last week but all is healing fine, no dry socket, so must be patient.

Morning walkabout then time at the pool for swim in 86 degree water.

Morning errands (so much easier to get around in my new car) then afternoon scanning mum's photos...only seven more shoeboxes to go but seems like I will never finish.....then I want to start on my own photos!
