Happy Valentines Day!
Visited "one of the top five weirdest restaurants in the country" per Al Roker on the Food Network a few years back.....but did not eat, just enjoyed the atmosphere! The sign for Linger Lodge is made out of snake skins! And the Road Kill Menu includes chunk of skunk, smidgen of pigeon, road toad a la mode, shake n bake snake.....per their menu, their meat is so fresh you can still see the tire tracks! Quite a fun experience located on the Baden River. Afternoon walk to the local Goodwill bookshop.

13 February 2017 Monday - Bradenton Florida
Morning workout and yoga class at the YMCA then met my friend Gail at the Ringling Brothers Museum in Sarasota.....the art museum is free on Mondays! Enjoyed ice cream at Big Olaf's. I did not know that there was such a large Amish/Mennonite community in Sarasota (Pinecraft)....heaps of folks on their tricycles with women in traditional dress and men with beards!

Early morning drive over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge to visit my friend Christine from high school. We enjoyed a great chat by the pool! I also visited Jiggs Landing on the Baden River.

10 February 2017 Friday - Largo to Hudson Florida (40 miles one way)
Morning drive north to Hudson to visit Harry and his wife Janet....he is third cousin on my father's side and has heaps of material from his research over the years. I had seen his name posted on the ancestry message board but his contact information was out of date.....finally found him through another cousin and was pleased to hear that he lived right up the road and that we could meet!
