Errand day before I depart on Tuesday then paella for dinner and a walkabout at the Chinese Lantern Festival at Koka Booth Amphitheatre.

Morning walk through the Christmas Market at the Fairgrounds then afternoon at the Carter Finley Stadium to watch NC State-U N Carolina game. Pam's daughter in law works for the NC State Wolfpack Club so we watched from the Vaughn Towers with free food and drinks and great seats!!!

Afternoon pilates class with my sister at the community center then evening gathering at her house with about fifty of her kid's best friends (17th annual)! Hot dogs and hamburgers and chicken on the barbq and heaps of sweets for dessert.

My sister's husband and I drove to downtown Raleigh to visit the North Carolina Archives and to peruse their genealogy and research room resources.

Visited my sister's son's new house that will be finished in December then dinner at her eldest son's house.

Visited Louisburg NC in Franklin county with my sister and her husband to show them what I have been doing at the local libraries and courthouses for the past few months!!! We have found that both our families had ancestors in this area although not blood related. Lunch with Morris' sister and then the challenge of Friday afternoon traffic for the return trip home.

Heavy rains in the morning for my visit to Boydton VA in Mecklenburg county and travel along the Kerr Dam.

Great visit to Lawrenceville VA in Brunswick county and Oxford NC in Granville county

Visiting Library of Virginia in Richmond VA and camping overnight at Pocahontas State Park.

16 November 2015 Monday - Lancaster to Richmond VA
Early morning visit to North Farnam Parish where my ancestors lived during 17th and 18th century then to court houses in Warsaw(Richmond County) and Tappahannock(Essex County) for research in the old books finding marriage, deeds and will records. They have no birth and death records in these counties so will visit library in Richmond tomorrow for more research.

Not easy driving on interstates around Norfolk but good thing my travel is on Sunday.....finally back on the country roads at Newport News and easy travel north to Belle Isle State Park for nice camping on Rappahannock River and long hike.

I visit the Starbucks every morning to do internet because none is at the house where I stay.....and they are already playing Christmas music! Ron and Trish (owners of house) will be here this evening for the weekend to close up the house for the winter.

The OBX marathon is happening today at the southern end so did a drive to northern end Corolla and did boardwalk walk and visit to lighthouse.

Three mile walk to Duck downtown but then got caught in rainstorn on my return home.

On the road again to spend a week at my friend's house in Southern Shores!

Looks like the bright light that I saw in the sky this morning was the cosmic fireball of the Taurid meteor shower!

A sunny day for soaking up some rays and getting my vitamin D fix....then walk on beach to the library to do some more family research.....have now found more on my mother's father's mother's side of the family. Extensive stuff done on her Swedish ancestry by a guy in Sweden.
Unfortunately, I am only a block away from Baskin Robbins!

Renting a condo/timeshare from a high school mate who could not stay for her full time here.....and at a really inexpensive price......so is fun to have a kitchen and cook some healthy meals!

Camping at Assateague Island National Seashore with the wild horses......long drop toilets and cold showers at the national park......the state park is now closed for the season where there are flush toilets and hot showers! Beautiful hiking on the dunes and through the forest and marshlands. Egrets and sika deer feeding just outside my window.
