31 July - flight from Juneau to London
1-8 Aug - visiting friends in London
8-23 August - Baltic cruise from Dover to St Petersburg and back
24 Aug-6 Sep - visiting friends in France
5-13 Sep - Barge on Mosel River Luxembourg to Frankfurt
13-20 Sep - Krakow Poland
21-29 Sep visiting friend in Germany
30 Sep - return flight Frankfurt to Juneau

27 July 2014 Sunday - Juneau Alaska
A walk at the Mendenhall Glacier and to the Nugget Falls(heaps of water)....the spawning sockeye salmon are returning to Steep Creek which means that the bear will arrive soon!

25 July 2014 Friday - Juneau Alaska
Early wakeup at 3am to 6.0 earthquake about 100 miles west of Juneau and then another one at 330am!

Happy Bastille Day!  Attended presentation by Captain Philippe Fichet Delavault on the journey of Laperouse during late 1700's that included visit with Tlingits at Lituya Bay.

Early morning spinning workout with my friend Katy who conducts classes at the local gym....great class but I prefer outdoor hiking and bicycling!

Early morning workout at the gym then packed my van for move from downtown to the valley.....and good timing because early morning was clear sky and then by 8am it was pouring down rain!
The Mendenhall lake and river are flooding due to a glacial outburst flood, also called a jokulhlaup (Icelandic term).

5 July 2014 Saturday - Juneau Alaska
Our Parks and Rec hike group went up the Eaglecrest ski area mountain (about 2000' elevation gain so a nice workout on the legs) and we had lunch on the ridge with views of Juneau and the channel.....a dry day with mix of sun and clouds.

4 July 2014 Friday - Juneau Alaska
A very wet Fourth.....in years past the day of the Fourth was full of sunshine but recent ones have had a very overcast day or rain. My friend Lynne and I visited the staging area of the floats for the parade then opted to take the tram for a wet hike on the alpine trail up Mt Roberts.

3 July 2014 Thursday - Juneau Alaska
A very foggy morning......we have our firework display this evening although two years ago it was delayed a day due to fog/weather....but it was on and woke me at midnite. My view from this house was perfect!

2 July 2014 Wednesday - Juneau Alaska
Too wet a day for me to do the Wednesday hike up Thunder Mountain (5 miles 2800 feet elevation gain) so a few of us decided to to Mt Roberts instead.....turned out to be a fairly nice day.
